Play'n Alone

Posted by shagnastylabs on March 3, 2009 at 10:20 PM Comments comments (0)

Wheew!!  Been a fun night tonight- playing with myself!!  LOL-  NOT like that you nasty people!  I felt like some music with a blues beat so I broke out the harmonica.   Then on a guitar background track- played a nice little lick or two or 12 and recodred it.  THEN- played it all back and played (accompanied) myself for a nice little bit of self amusment.  See how I am?  LOL    Cracks me up the stuff I come up with.  And it turns out pretty good too!  For all those blues fans, if I can get the vid on my computer (cant find the cable) I will post it somewhere for your laughter too!

Good Night and God Bless!

Egads Man!!  Did you see the size of his gun!  And he shot the wings off a fly with that huge bullet!    Hello again my friends.  Today I started a new old work that I had put down while other things took priority.  Hope to let you see it soon!   The lab is slowly coming back to life-  jacobs ladders are sparking, lights blinking and machines turning!  Cheers!

The juxtaposed life of a single man

The juxtaposed life of a single man is to some people a quirky and otherwise strange existence.   For instance:  Last night I was so glad to have my couch and chair back I decided to use them.  I ate a 90 cent box of mac and cheese right out of the pot I cooked them in while enjoying a very expensive glass of import Cab.    I sat alone and watched “Wanted” and afterwards wrote about things from my heart….  If opposites attract, maybe they also already exist in us all.

I started to make sense of the lab and have some really nice ideas that I am looking forward to working on.  Bed time came all too quick.   It was very quiet last night.  Not a sound.

I dont have to be alone.  Not at all.  In fact, I could have easily shared with someone.  But, I choose to be alone tonight.  I wont fill the voids with someone just to do so.  I hold out for something more.

Happy Valentines Day to you all.

Behind the Scenes

I recently was playing around with a new web page "behind the scenes".  It is to kind a give a little peek at the lab- the guns and the creative process-  but it was accidently posted on my site too early!  if you found that blank page and wondered what the heck-  sorry!  I will at some point get it done.  Home still calls HOWEVER:  all the hard wood floors are done!   Wooo hoooo  lol   I have held off moving in living room furniture and it will be so nice to get those items in now!   Places to sit, kick up your feet-  what have you!  That should happen this weekend and that my friends is a big deal!  Guns should start flowing soon!   Buenas noches!

Stay'n Home

I took another day off today.  I dont feel that I am quite ready to go back to the workplace as bad as I was.  It has given me lots of time to ponder...GREAT BIG IDEAS and little tiny ideas.   Wondering....  Hummmm   I should be working on my house but i dont feel like it..maybe later tonight.  It gets quiet here!!  For an older house this is a quiet one.... I need to dive into the floor in the living room as I am currently living with out that room!!!  ARGH...  maybe later.  I hate being sick, it drags you down!!   What a drag...lol...   I got some really good advice on getting better from this GREAT P.A. I know.... who needs a doc with friends like that? You know what I like about PA's?  Is that they really take time to talk to the patients and get to understand the problems that are under the skin...not just a high bye here is a script-

Hey Andi, do you ever read my blog???  I see you log onto my site here and there.

The ills of moving

Welcome once again to the circus!

The ills of moving- everything scattered and boxed and not found...  what fun.  Note to self:  Moving is no fun.

I have taken quite ill recently and was forced to spend a full day in bed.  That is hard for a guy like me.  I think a fever brought on some pretty wild dreams as well!

I did manage to get out to take my son to Walking with Dinosaurs at the bok center.  That was fun.  Do that three times fast on cold meds!  ROAR.....

Well, the lab is basically here now and I just need to rebuild all the parts.  Tubes and beakers and electrodes and all... the vault is almost moved as well.  Plenty of works for the future are stored there.

Well boys and ladies.  Take your c's wash your hands and drink plenty of fluids, you DONT want what ever this is / was.   Good night and God Bless!

Still Moving

Life is at this point a totally scattered afair.  Things boxed and lost.  Items spread all over.  The end (I hope) is in sight.   Working on the new old house progresses.  I was somehow able to finish a commision job while getting the hardwood done in the back rooms.

Things that amaze me:  If you dont want to scratch a hardwood floor, it is easy to do.  If you want to scracth all the old finish off, you cant (easily) damage it.   I went through over 20 sheets of 36 grit (YES 36 grit) paper to break through it just to get to the Red Oak under it.  Amazing!

OH- here is another:    "No, this trick won't work...How on earth are you ever going to explain in terms of chemistry and physics so important a biological phenomenon as love?"    Albert Einstein

Good Night

Good Evening

After a third glass of merlot,  I am deep into writting a new and (imho) great story.  I find myself in that wonderful margin of creative and quiet that I love to be in.  No, it is not the wine that takes me there.  It is something well beyond that.   It is a state of awareness that makes writting something like a dream....   makes no sense I know.   Best way to describe it is like this "zone" that is awesome.  I wish this came more often but I am pleased to have it even just twice a month.  It is like someone else is writting and it flows out like warm butter on fresh toast.  The words just go and go....

Anyhow, I really hope my friends and followers are all having a blessed new year and that you are following your heart.   I good friend told me over Chrismas:  Keep your mind open.    I am and do.  I hope you are too.

SO... to all of you from where ever you are:  Costa Mesa to Jersey-  thanks for being who you are and I wish you the best in all you do too!

Good night and God Bless!

Hi Ya

I was recently ran across a wonderful little find.  I am sure it will make it into a new and unique work.  Alas, I am moving and working late in order to get the new place in order to even move in....  lots of work and repair.  I am glad my friends have stuck with me through this dry spell in the lab as I shut it down to pack it up.  The good news is the new lab section of the new digs is done.  I was pleased to find some very vintage parts to put into it including some wonderful brass cast lights with carnival glass type globes and some other parts that I am sure will add inspiration during those long hours of creatitivity.

Hope you are doing well.  Thanks for stopping by.  I hope to be up and running in the lab full steam in Feb.  Stick around and dont touch that dial- same steam time, same steam channel....

Good night and God bless

Happy New Year

I recently read a story about a sad event but in doing so I have to really question the news media.  In this story it speaks of several guns being used, describing them as "high powered handguns and 2 high powered shotguns".  I ask you this:  Is there any such think as a "Low Powered Handgun or Shotgun".    Maybe so, and maybe that is why you dont see people running around killing others with a Shagnasty gun.   Dont get me wrong I am deeply bothered by the actions of others... but I am even more disturned by the main stream press.  They glamorize and expand the situations so much that I think it actually drives some people to commit such terrible crimes.  It is like terrorism:  With no media attention and only death awaiting them and with no one even knowing they were gone of what they did, if THIS were what they faced- terrorism would go by the way side.  They count on the news and media to hype it up 'round the world for them.  That is what they want!   Geez.  Get with it people.

Hey and while your at it- buy another "High Powered" Shagnasty lab creation and go out and shoot orange foam at someone!  Noone dies and we all go home- sans the news stories.

Disclaimer-  I think the situations I news storied quote are horrid and dont mean in the least to be little them.  Only to rant about the media that drives them.
